With 60+ years combined experience across insurance, they recognised traditional validation methods – including multiple quotes and outdated pricing benchmarks – were no longer delivering the accuracy, consistency or transparency the industry needed.
Working closely with insurers, assessors, builders and repair specialists over five years, Steve and John developed QuoteCheck – the Australian insurance industry's first AI-powered building repair cost validation platform.

John Houston
John Houston is a qualified loss adjuster with more than 20 years' experience across property and casualty insurance, finance and business process outsourcing. His expertise spans claims management, procurement, loss adjusting, insurance repairs and operational strategy.
Throughout his career, John has helped organisations improve efficiency, reduce costs and strengthen customer outcomes through process improvement, data-driven decision-making and strategic change.
